History

Stoney’s Sand & Gravel, LLC is a family owned business located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, serving Kings, Tulare, and Fresno counties for nearly 25 years.

In December of 1984, Mike and Carol Evans purchased their first transfer truck, working under the name of Mike Evans Dump Truck Service, out of Hub, California.  They slowly built their business, and in 1988 they bought out a small local trucking company, Del Jones Trucking, and in 1989 they bought out Brooks Rock & Sand in Riverdale, California, purchasing only one of their trucks, and one loader.  By 1989 the business began to grow and they purchased property on 41 Highway in Lemoore, California, moving their business to the new location, and began working under the dba of Stoney’s Sand & Gravel.  In 1999 the business was established as a limited liability company and is now Stoney’s Sand & Gravel, LLC.

The business has steadily grown to over 30 trucks, incorporating more transfers, along with bottom dumps, end dumps, lowbeds, water trucks, tankers, and flatbeds.  Along with a retail rock yard, and two sister companies, Stoney’s Concrete, LLC and Cen-Cal Paving, Inc.  The white and blue trucks have become familiar to the residents of the San Joaquin Valley, and especially in Kings County where their office and yard reside.  These trucks continue to make deliveries to building contractors, pool contractors, landscapers, dairies, farmers, schools, and homeowners with a variety of materials. As well as serving the local area with the retail yard where homeowners and landscapers come in and pick up small quantities.

Their son, Kyle Evans, was just six weeks old when the Evans’ purchased their first truck and has grown up in the business, and continues to work in the business on a daily basis.  Kyle is the President of the Cen-Cal Paving Corporation, and oversees its operation on a daily basis as well as doing the dispatching for the trucking company.
